Introduction

In the last two years of school, the stakes suddenly start to feel higher. So much turns on the next eighteen months, and it can be difficult for parents to understand whether expectations are really being met. A disappointing mock exam, an uncertain predicted grade, or a subject that suddenly becomes harder can quickly create problems. Even a student who is doing well may need to be doing extra work beyond school if they are aiming for the most demanding university courses. What's usually needed at this stage is reassurance that someone experienced is looking closely, spotting problems early, and making sure nothing important is left to chance.

This is where we can help. We choose tutors for each student we work with on an individual basis, informed by the level they are working at, the universities they may be aiming for, and what it will take to get there. For one student, that may mean restoring confidence after a difficult term; for another, pushing an already strong performance further. Everything is fully bespoke for each student we work with, and we manage it with you as the year develops. Our aim is for them to get stronger results, and to gain the confidence they need to set themselves up for life.

Frequently Asked Questions

“Online or in person?”

Either. At sixth-form level, the best subject specialist is often more important than geography, so many families use online tuition even when they are based in London.

“Can you help with coursework or an extended essay?”

We can teach the underlying subject, help with planning, questioning and feedback within the rules, and make sure the student understands academic integrity.

“Can this run alongside university applications?”

Yes. In fact it often should, because subject knowledge, admissions tests, interviews and the school course draw on the same intellectual work. We coordinate the two so the student is not duplicating effort.
