Introduction

The early years of secondary school should be a time when a young person's interests grow and they begin to think about their future. Yet the transition can often be demanding. A difficulty in one subject can gradually affect how they feel about learning more generally, whilst a student who needs more of a challenge than the school is giving them may begin to lose interest. Recognising what they need at this stage requires care and experience.

This is where the right teaching can make a difference. Drawing on our address book, we find tutors who match exactly what each student we work with may need. As your trusted educational partner, we will help you to manage a custom-made arrangement and adapt the support as they develop. Our aim is for them to thrive at secondary school, and to carry a love of learning with them into the years ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions

“Is Year 7 too early for tuition?”

Tuition can be useful at this stage when it meets a clear need. We would first discuss what you hope it would help your son or daughter achieve.

“How do you choose a tutor?”

We consider subject experience and teaching approach alongside what we know about the student. The relationship matters as much as the timetable.

“Can you promise better grades?”

No particular result can be guaranteed. We agree useful goals and review the student's work to understand the progress being made.

“What does it cost?”

The fee depends on the tutor and the support arranged. We set this out before lessons begin.
